Dear Mr. Burns, 

Thank you very much for the opportunity to work as a managerial accountant for Widgets, Inc. 

The position of Budget Director is one of great responsibility, and I look forward to working with you and other members of the executive team to help Widgets Inc. achieve its corporate vision.

I am also excited about working with my colleagues in the Accounting Department, and look forward to meeting them at a staffing meeting on May 5^th, which is also my first official day of work.

As I discussed earlier, I plan to start coming to the office for part of the day two weeks prior to that, so I can become familiar with your filing and computer systems and take care of any necessary paperwork. 

This would include signing the contracts authorizing my $65,000 annual salary, enrolling me in Widget Inc.'s health and dental insurance plans and initiating my 401K program. 

Once again, thank you for selecting me for this very important position at this very important time.  I am energized by the changes taking place in the widget industry and am excited to be a part of them at Widgets Inc.
