Job Search Tips for New Graduates
Editor's Note
You studied hard, or maybe not so hard, but the education phase of your life is over, or will be over soon.  You need to look for work, but you don't have a lot of experience, if any.  You feel overwhelmed by the job search process and the competition for the few openings that you see on job boards.

If this is how you feel, stop for a moment and take a deep breath.  Go look at yourself in the mirror.  Now, ask yourself, what kind of pitch can you make that will get you hired?  What type of job candidate do you want to be?

Here is the most important advice about job search that you will ever hear, and it has nothing to do with job search.  It has to do with your own perception of yourself:

Believe in yourself, because, if you don't believe in yourself, nobody will.

You may wonder how this tip can help you in your job search.  It will help you because it will be the seed that will make things happen for you.  If you believe in yourself, then you will make whatever you want happen.  It's about attitude.  Attitude is not enough however, otherwise, any day dreamer would make it big.  You need the right attitude and you need to work hard to achieve your goals.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself however.  Employers looking to hire a new graduate will not expect the moon from you.  The main attributes they will be looking for is that you have the right qualifications and the right outlook to learn and grow.  Potential is what employers seek in new graduates.
